Security tapes of the Oklahoma City bombing just released had key sections erased. Salt Lake City attorney Jesse Trentadue obtained the security camera tapes of the bombing through the Freedom of Information Act. After many years of secrecy around these critical tapes, the missing portions only fuel conspiracy fires. Shortly after 9 AM on April 19, 1995, bombs in Oklahoma City's Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building killed 168 people and injured hundreds more, rocking the entire nation and world. The following draft of an “isolation order” was discovered on the CDC’s website . It is a template for state and local officials to impose quarantines and what would effectively be martial law. “Your illness [as determined by state and local officials] requires that you be isolated and requires further public health investigation and monitoring.” Failure to obey will result in imprisonment without bail prior to trial and the possiblity of a two year prison term. In other words, according to this document, officials can impose quarantine without evidence that somebody is actually infected with a virus that is now negligible at best. It may also be used to quarantine potentially millions of people suffering from any number of illnesses — or not suffering from any disease at the discretion of the state — that have nothing to do with H1N1. Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has ordered the replacement of the US dollar by the euro in calculating the value of the country's Oil Stabilisation Fund (OSF). The edict, issued on Sept 12, follows a recommendation by the trustees of the country's foreign reserves, Iran's English-language daily The Tehran Times said on Monday, citing Iran's semi-official Mehr News Agency. The move was taken because the government wishes to protect itself from the fragility of the US economy and the weak dollar. The OSF, which forms part of Iran’s foreign exchange reserves, is a contingency fund set aside to cushion the economy against fluctuating international oil prices. It is also used to help both the public and private sectors with their hard currency needs by extending loans. NEW YORK — A senior NYPD commander has been transferred amid questions about the handling of a police source accused of tipping off terror suspect Najibullah Zazi that he was under surveillance, an official confirmed Thursday. Police and city officials have refused to discuss the removal of Inspector Paul Ciorra from the NYPD's Intelligence Division, first reported Thursday in The New York Times. But a law enforcement official, who was not authorized to speak about the transfer and insisted on anonymity, confirmed that Ciorra had left the unit and been replaced by an officer with experience on an FBI-run terrorism task force. The official said Ciorra would become commanding officer of the NYPD's highway patrol, despite the Times report that he would be transferred to an administrative position.
